Pyšná princezna

The beautiful but very proud Princess Krasomila, daughter of the ruler of the Midnight Kingdom, refuses to marry the noble King Miroslav, who is bidding for her hand. However, he goes to her native kingdom and works as a gardener at the castle in disguise. The princess falls in love with him and gradually gets rid of all her whims under his influence. The two lovers flee together, but the king's messengers soon catch up with them. At the same time, the reformed Krasomila reveals the gardener's true identity and finally accepts the marriage proposal. The first Czechoslovak film fairy tale for children was filmed based on one of Bozena Němcová's most beautiful fairy tales Punished Pride.
