About event
From 25 to 30 March, the Plein Theater and Cat Smits Company will present the fourth edition of the International Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam!
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam has been offering a stage to Queer Perspectives since 2022 via issuing forms of visual theater, object theater and Poppspspel. This stubborn festival defies the norm with a fur and brutal program full of exuberant, visual excesses from home and abroad.
The theme of QPFA 2025, Creating Bodies, challenges us not to see bodies as a fixed fact, but as something that is constantly created, formed and stinging, both stubby, both stained, both stubby, and defeated, greatly, great, both stubbyed, both. Cultural. How do we experience our body? How does it move between boundaries of gender, identity and perception? When does a body become an object, and when does the agency get? And to what extent do we form our body of our choice?
In the program of Creating Bodies, the body is played, manipulated, dismantled and re -constructed. The body moves objects, is an object and escapes objectification.
Be welcome!
