About event
The Vienna Central Cemetery is one of the most magical places in Vienna. Here we find the gravesites of queer personalities and thus the roots of our queer history in Vienna.
We visit the final resting place of queer artists, such as that of the legendary actress Dorothea Neff and her partner Eva Zilcher or the grave of the opera tenor Max Lorenz. We meet impressive women like Rosa Jochmann and Johanna Dohnal and remember perhaps almost forgotten personalities like Marcel Prawy.
We also visit the gravesites of queer people who suffered from persecution or defended themselves against it, such as Rudolf Vieröckl, an early activist from before the First World War, or Franz Doms, who lost his life during the Nazi era.
Are you curious? Then join us in this commemoration of queer people at the Vienna Central Cemetery!
