About event
What does Questing 32 mean? Questing means searching...
The full name of our game is "Questing as part of experiential pedagogy". We will not only play, but also educate with a short game, or prepare or test it together.
And 32? There will be at least 32 games with a guided tour with a certified guide, and they are divided in such a way that we will play at least 4 in each region of Slovakia by the end of the year.
Each game will take about an hour, but some places may take two hours due to the necessary transfer.
Balas family
The Balas family could boast of an ancient lineage in Hungary and their position in the kingdom was firm. Since the 13th century, their destinies have been connected mainly with the town of Ďarmoty in Honta (currently Balassagyarmat in Hungary) and with the Blue Stone (Hungarian: Kékkő) castle in Novohrad (Nógrád). As the first representative, the župan of Zvolen Detre is more often mentioned, but his father Synek is mentioned as an older ancestor.
Let's play.
Duration of the meeting, including the game: 1 hour
You need: Listen carefully
Accompanied by tasks: Swan
Lecturer and guide: Simon
The mansion in Orlovo, also called Zsigmondháza in the past, was built by Žigmund Balaš around 1606 in the Renaissance style. The original building had a central floor plan with an inner arcaded courtyard, on which outbuildings were built. The facade was richly divided by windows. Part of the valuable interior was a rich library and a picture gallery.
During Žigmund's absence, the mansion burned down and the fire-damaged building required repairs. After Sigismund's death, the manor house became the residence of his daughter Euphrosyne by the decision of the arbitrators. But she moved out very soon, because she did not feel safe here.
Zigmund's son Ondrej II tried to restore the mansion, but due to the bad military situation and disputes in the family, he was unable to do so. The reconstruction of the building was carried out by his grandson Pavol II. Balaša in the first third of the 18th century. The mansion was rebuilt in the Baroque style, but it also respected the original Renaissance elements.
More personally, let's play.
