The Kamaldu monk František Ignác Jäschke was known by the name Cyprian. He lived in the years 1724-1775. He took his religious vows in 1752 in Zobor, but spent most of his life in the Red Monastery.

According to preserved legends, he was a traveler, folk healer, collector and designer, and excelled mainly in the fields of medicine and botany. An important proof that the monk Cyprian is a real person is the preserved herbarium that he created in the 1860s in the Red Monastery.
But he is better known for his attempts to fly.

See you in Sunday, 15.12.2024 from 10:00 a.m. at the Monastery Museum in Červeny Kláštor.
