The construction of a memorial site - a mausoleum with a sarcophagus, began in Ružomberok in 1939. However, in September 1944, an insurgent plane attacked with the aim of destroying Hlinkova tomb and the government decided to move Hlink's remains to an unknown location. It is still unknown where they are.
The mausoleum has two parts, a chapel with an entrance and a tomb on the left side of the chapel. It also includes a bust of A. Hlinka together with a stainless steel cross, which replaced the statue of the Virgin Mary during the reconstruction in 1990 to 1991. Next to the mausoleum stands the Neo-Renaissance building of the Municipal Office, which includes the rectory where Andrej Hlinka worked.
A larger-than-life bronze statue of Andrej Hlinka was also unveiled at the entrance. His image was also on a Slovak banknote with a nominal value of 1,000 Sk.
