About event

~~~ ąԋ໐j͓̽ ~~~
In the evening of acoustic guitars and hypnotic melodies. Three exceptional musicians, each with a distinctive approach to the guitar, meet on one stage. Executing connecting the tradition of fingerpicking with experimental folk, blues moods and psychedelic trips. Intimate atmosphere and acoustic rawness.
Kadonnu Manner (Finland)
Behind the project Kadonnu Manner ("Lost continent") is Finnish guitarist Lauri Manner. In his work, John Fahey's "primitive guitar" school connects to the aesthetics of Diy Punk, Blues Mississipp Delta and traditional music from the north of Europe. The result is a raw, hypnotic and film -based instrumental music. Over the past few years he has released four albums of author's compositions, several split EPs and a tape with adjustments to Finnish songs for solo guitar. He played almost 400 concerts throughout Europe with his project and shared a stage with leading personalities of alternative guitar scenes such as Gwenifer Raymond, Peter Wood and Julien Ledra. He performed at festivals from Folk and Blues to psychedelic and hardcore, showing the wide scope and versatility of his music. He currently lives in the Arctic city of Rovaniemi.
Edgars Rubenis Guitarist Edgars Rubenis moved through a wide range of musical genres across his career - from psychedelic blues to experimental Noise to minimalist drone compositions. In recent years, however, he has fully immersed in an acoustic guitar, and as part of his project Pains and Boogies he has been exploring the possibilities of fingerpicking, blues harmonies and ragtime rhythms. His music is also a tribute to the masters of early blues, such as Mississippi John Hurt or Blind Blake, but at the same time a brand new and fresh look at these traditional forms. Rubenis's game is precise and rhythmically elaborated. In his compositions, historical musical procedures meet with a modern approach to the form and dynamics. In addition to his solo track, he worked in significant projects of the Latvian alternative scene, such as the experimental rock band Mona de Bo. He studied sonology and composition at the Hague Conservatory, where he devoted himself to electronic and electroacoustic music. Yet he eventually returned to an acoustic guitar as the most natural means of his musical expression.
Eric Arn (USA/Austria)
Since the age of 80, he has worked in bands such as Crystalized Movements or Primordial Undermind, and his performance promises an unconventional approach to a guitar that oscillates between melody and abstraction, and constantly changing sounds - sometimes smooth and meditative, sometimes chaotic and fragmented. As a solo artist, Eric ARN devotes himself to a wide range of guitar styles - from fine, impressionist fingerpicking compositions to intensive improvised passages full of dissonance and unexpected harmony. His music combines the influences of acoustic giants such as John Fahey or Robbie Bash, as well as the avant -garde approach of Derek Bailey and the minimalist structure reminiscent of Terry Riley. Critics rank him in the same line as the current masters of the experimental guitar, including Richard Bishop, Daniel Bachman or Jack Rose.
