About event
The radio is a socio-technological complex. What happens if you consider it as an instrument, as an expression means or even as a toy? As a laboratory for experiments instead of being limited to its traditional functions? What happens if we reinterpret the now a hundred year old apparatus artistically?
This is exactly what "Radiophønix" does: The project by Timo Kreuser and Phønix16 deals with radiophone installations with the social, political and cultural effects of the radio. The guest artist Goh Lee Kwang, Joee Mejias and Elvin Brandhi invites the soloist ensemble Phønix16 to present three remixes of the Radiophønix repertoire on the sound doma of the radial system. In addition to new interpretations of two sound sculptures, Phønix16, in collaboration with Joee Mejias and Elvin Brandhi, shows a live remix of "Pauline", a sound sculpture that relates to the pioneer of experimental and electronic music Pauline Oliveiros.
