About event
Two singers. One show. And lots of great stories!
Ragnar Ólafsson is an Icelandic singer, songwriter and writer living in Reykjavík.
While he conquers the international scene as a member of the award-winning formation Árstíðir, his solo project shows a much more intimate face. In short, Ragnar is a poet with a guitar who turns his travels into music – after all, he wrote each of his three solo albums while traveling. On stage, he transforms into a charismatic storyteller, sharing with audiences the stories behind his songs with ease.
In addition to touring, Ragnar composes music for film and television, including the series Little Disasters (starring Diane Kruger) on the Paramount+ platform. In his latest book, Definitely Maybe, he again ponders how it is possible that the Nordic nations produce so many musicians given their small population. He will share the most interesting observations with you directly between songs.
Glorious Leader is the solo project of American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Woolard.
Kyle has been roaming concert stages on four continents for 16 years - either solo or as the frontman of indie-rock band The Anatomy of Frank. As a solo artist, he is also very close to Iceland, regularly collaborating and performing with names such as Svavar Knútur, Myrra Rós or Árstíðir.
Glorious Leader's music moves between the warm intimacy of the home fireplace and the urgency of the dance floor. Precise guitar strumming combines with synthesizers, orchestral elements and drum machines. It's electronic but warm. Melancholy, but restless - in short, electro-folk with sharp teeth.
What do you expect? An evening full of deep songs that will touch your heart, interspersed with humor and stories that will make you laugh your heart out!

His latest book, Definitely Maybe, explains how all Nordic nations can have so many musicians compared to their small populations, and during the show Ragnar will share some highlights from his book, between songs.

For 16 years he's been touring internationally in four continents, both as a solo performer and as a member of the group The Anatomy of Frank. As a solo artist Kyle has collaborated and toured with Icelandic acts such as Svavar Knútur, Myrra Rós and Árstíðir.
The music of Glourious Leader toggles between wood-stove intimacy and dancefloor urgency, layering fingerpicked guitar with synths, orchestration, and drum machines. It's electronic but warm, melancholic but restless — electro-folk with fangs. During the show the audience can expect heart-wrenching songs, mixed with a few good laughs!
