second webinar with clinical speech therapist Mgr. Daniela Hudecová, PhD., and the head of the Children's ENT NÚDCH in Bratislava MUDr. Irina Goljerová, CSc., MPH, and their guests: prof. Andrej Kráľ - professor of systemic neuroscience at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, head of the Department of Experimental Otology and professor of auditory neurophysiology at the Hannover Medical University in Germany and Dr. Peter Hubko - head of the Clinical Research Unit in the field of audiological studies at the Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery of the Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Bratislava.

The webinar will include videos of children who were implanted at an early age and developed their hearing abilities and through them speech.

On Wednesday 26 November 2025 (18.00 – 20.00).

The webinar is mainly intended for parents of children with hearing impairments, but also for experts who work with them.

Lecturer: MUDr. Irina Goljerová, CSc., MPH, Head of Pediatric ENT NÚDCH, Bratislava, Slovakia: HEARING DIAGNOSTIC OPTIONS IN SMALL CHILDREN AND THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTER FOR CHILDREN WITH HEARING DISORDER OF THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CHILDREN'S DISEASES IN BRATISLAVA

The Center for Children with hearing impairment NÚDCH. Regarding the ears, the clinic deals with complex diagnostics and treatment of ear diseases and maintains a national registry of children with hearing impairment. According to the severity of the problem, selected groups of children are dispensaries, a special group consists of children who are monitored as part of the mandatory hearing screening of newborns in the Slovak Republic. Such children require early rehabilitation in the case of a detected hearing disorder, for which all available methods are used, including hearing aids and cochlear implants. Subsequently, these children are monitored in the center and their aids are adjusted. The clinic has an interdisciplinary team of experts (ENT doctors, phoniatrician, psychologist, speech therapist) and uses the possibilities of complex cooperation with other departments within the NÚDCH. We are currently working on a project to introduce stem implantation in cooperation with a local neurocenter.

Main organizer of webinars on hearing disorders:
Mgr. Daniela Hudecová, PhD. she studied clinical speech therapy at the Faculty of Education of the Comenius University. As part of an external doctoral study, she monitored the development of auditory-preverbal behavior and its impact on the development of language and hearing skills in children with a cochlear implant. She worked as a clinical speech therapist at the phoniatrics department of the Faculty Hospital in Bratislava, later at a separate department of clinical speech therapy. She was part of the team of the Slovak Center for Cochlear Implantation. Through the Fulbright scholarship program, she participated in a study-work stay at a school for hearing impaired children in Massachusetts, USA. He runs the private speech therapy clinic Logos, p. r. o., where he mainly works with children with hearing impairments. In 2024, she completed accredited training organized by MED-EL in the field of care for children with hearing impairment compensated by cochlear implants (Hearing implant rehabilitationist). She currently works as a clinical speech therapist at the Children's ENT Clinic DFNsP in Bratislava.
