We invite you to the next meeting within the informal discussion format of Breakfast in Ďatelinka, which combines art, culture and civic engagement. This time on the topic About (created) Culture! The invitation was accepted by exceptional personalities who have been actively advocating for transparency, expertise and justice in the cultural environment for a long time:

In the discussion we will touch topics such as engaged space, cultural policy, and also work on the plan for the renewal and resilience of culture.

Prof. Ilona Németh DLA – artist, activist, curator and professor. She led Studio IN and in the years 2014–2019 also the international educational program Open Studio at the Department of Intermedia at VŠVU in Bratislava. From 2021, she works as a professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. In the years 2018–2021, she was the artistic director of the international exhibition and art-research project Eastern Sugar with the support of the Creative Europe program (after her solo exhibition of the same name at the Kunsthalle in Bratislava in 2018) in cooperation with the Slovak National Gallery. Her publication Ilona Németh Eastern Sugar (co-editors Maja and Reuben Fowkes) was published by Sternberg Press Berlin, Vydavateľstvo Absynt and the Slovak National Gallery in 2021. In 2022, she realized Floating Gardens at documenta fifteen in Kassel and presented herself with a solo exhibition at Trafo Gallery in Budapest. In 2023, she exhibited at the 35th Biennale of Graphics in Ljubljana, at the international exhibition Survival Kit 14 in Riga and at the Jogja Biennale Yogyakarta in Indonesia. Her site-specific installation "When we got here..." in collaboration with the Cité Internationale des Arts was made available in Paris in 2024. In 2025, she held solo exhibitions in the Gandy Gallery in Bratislava, the House of Arts in Ústí nad Labem and the GMU in Hradec Kráľová. Ilona Németh's publication Gardens of the Future was published by Abacus+ publishing house and Čierne diery in 2025. She has been collaborating with architect Marián Ravasz for a long time on various projects such as Invitation to Visit (Venice Biennale 2001), IKEA Series, Eastern Sugar (2017–), on installations in public space such as Capsules (2003), Mirror (2009–2013), Monument to women who boiled salt (Crikvenica, 2020–), Floating Gardens (2011–2022) at documenta fifteen in Kassel (2022), "When we got here..." at the Cité internationale des arts, Paris (2024) and many other projects.
Mgr. Veronika Němcová graduated in cultural studies. Until March 31, 2025, she worked as the director of the Schaubmar mill in Pezinok, a branch office of the Slovak National Gallery. It is part of the initiative of mass resignations of SNG employees who left in protest against the current unprofessional management of the institution. He is actively involved in the Open Culture initiative! and is a member of the Cultural Strike committee, whose goal is to stop the devastating interventions of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic in the cultural environment at all levels. Currently, she is engaged in art in public space as part of her doctoral studies at STU and works as a producer of the Waiting Places project, which is part of the EHMK Trenčín 2026 program.
