About event
The versatile filmmaker Mathieu Kassovitz took the film world in 1995 by attack. His hatred is a harsh, disturbing and visually explosive testimony of racial and cultural volatility of contemporary France, especially neighborhoods on the Paris Periphery. Vinz (Vincent Cassel), Hubert (Hubert Koundé), and Sažd (Sažd Taghmaoui) - Jew, African and Arab - are aimlessly hanging into a hopeless concrete jungle. Three young men, representing thousands of young people from immigration families in France, are still in spite of marginalization, and gradually reaches the inevitable boiling point. This exceptional film work full of harsh beauty is rightly presented by a milestone of French cinematography 90. And also a riveting reflection of the permanent crisis of its country's identity. ~~~~~
