The last ride
Jon is a middle -aged man and lives with his mother in a remote part of Iceland. Mother is a vigorous woman, ready for everything, and of course she is clear about what happens to her after death. When the moment comes, Jon will start the corpse without hesitation and dresses in festively, sitting on the back seat of her old car, loading a faithful dog Bresnef - the way to the place where Jon's mother wanted to rest forever. However, the peculiar, gently morbid film by Icelandic director Hilmar Venson shows that we can shake a little fun and adventure from these moments. min).
The projection will be preceded by the lecturer of Karolína Stehlíková focused on the Nordic books dealing with the topic of death.

The adaptation of books or biography of literary personalities are extremely popular among filmmakers. Among other things, the new cycle shows how the creators approach these challenges. The screening takes place about every second month at the Edison Filmhub cinema and several times a year also in the Brno cinema Art, or in the virtual cinema. In addition to the film and its authors, we introduce them to the context of Nordic literature and the national cinematography. In addition to warning books available in Czech, we also acquaint the public with works that have not been translated into Czech (yet).
