Let's meet and talk about REAL topics: rationality, epistemics, AI, future,... over a cup of tea.
This is the second iteration of something which may turn into semi-regular meetups on the 'REAL' bundle of topics: rationality, epistemics, AI & grounded futurism.
The topic for this time will be somewhat unusual: understanding Elon Musk. Musk is adored by some and seen as a cartoon villain by others, but cartoon-like perspectives are not sufficient for understanding. At the same time, it is undeniable that Musk is impactful; his companies - SpaceX, Tesla and OpenAI - have already changed the landscape of mobility, space and AI. Musk has had a large impact on US electoral politics and seems to play a large role in the current US administration. Hopefully we can cover diverse perspectives on Musk's life, including:
beliefs and motivations
psychopharmacology
social media use
The event will be under Chatham House Rule: participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
The plan is to do a series of lightning talks (~3.5m) covering various aspects of the topic, and then discuss. If you would be interested in giving a lightning talk, drop a message.
