The REC-DISORDER format explores the use of sound recordings in one Live concert. Four solo works by Peter Cusack, Hanna Hartman, Felicity Mangan and Matthias Koole show the four artists' very individual approach to and handling of recorded sound material. Each piece casts a different perspective on the recorded sound as a sonic, subjective, informative and imaginative tool in a performative setting.
Peter Cusack's approach offers the possibility of not perceiving unknown places through the visual and logocentric sensibility , which most people often do. In the works of Hanna Hartman, the abstraction of sound gives way to the free association of disparate objects. Felicity Mangan converts sound recordings into “quasi-bioacoustic music” and clearly places rhythmic qualities in the foreground. With Matthias Koole, the artist's physical presence and performance merge with the spatial effect of the recording.
The concert evening offers the opportunity to reflect on how the materiality of sound and performance can be perceived differently by re-concreting what was previously abstracted.< br/>
Funded by Musikfonds e.V. with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM).

Every piece takes a different perspective on recorded sound as a sonic, subjective, informative and imaginative tool in a performative setting.
In Peter Cusack's approach, sound offers the possibility of perceiving other, unfamiliar places through a sensibility different from the visual and logocentric. In Hanna Hartman's work, the abstraction of sound gives way to the free association of disparate objects. Felicity Mangan transforms recordings into “a quasi-bioacoustic music”, paying lots of attention to the rhythmic qualities. Matthias Koole merges the physical presence and performance of the performer with the spatiality of the recording.
The evening offers the opportunity to reflect on how disembodied and reembodied sound and performance can make us perceive materiality differently.
