About event
Join Don't Shoot Portland for an in-person event at the Pacific Northwest College of Art! At this community printmaking event, we will create artwork and posters for Don't Shoot Portland's annual Reclaim MLK March on January19, 2026. During this event, you'll have the chance to work alongside talented artists and activists, using various mediums including screenprinting for social change and to make a statement. We'll explore different themes and techniques, sharing ideas and inspiration.
In addition to a day of art making and community building several activations for social change will take up space.
From 1-2 pm, Kenneth Kreuscher, an attorney at the Oregon Justice Resource Center, will be presenting a Know Your Rights training with clear, practical information about rights, risks, and remedies during encounters with ICE.
Each training covers:
National context: What’s happening across the country and what it means for Oregon. (https://www.ojrc.info)
Sanctuary laws: What it means that Oregon is a sanctuary state.
Practical guidance: How to assert your rights and understand your risks when interacting with ICE or the police.
Interactive discussion: Ask questions, get answers, and leave better prepared.
OHSU Health Equity Organization will be on hand providing blood pressure and blood sugar testing. They will also be on hand to answer questions and provide access to health resources.
