About event
We cordially invite you to the opening meeting of the emerging creative group around the Jilská 14 gallery, whose goal is to participate in the 2026 Velvet Illumination parade.
There will be a short presentation and presentation of the main principles of the Velvet Illumination, with the help of which you will try to define what you are passionate about and what you would like to bring to light in public space, but with exaggeration and humor.
But several themes can certainly crystallize.
The purpose of the project is to connect the public with artists and enable a participatory artistic experience for ordinary people who, under the guidance of visual artists and with the contribution of performers, can express themselves in the streets on the Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy with a humorous exaggeration of the topics that are burning them. They participate in the creation and realization of masks, costumes, and allegorical objects that often light up. We invite students and adults, civic initiatives and artists to create a creative parade through the center of Prague together.
Please register by email [email protected], capacity is limited.
