"If you can go to her, so can I," says the priest to the doctor in front of the door of the dying girl's room.
Both of them are united by the desire to give her a peaceful departure. However, their methods naturally differ.
A minor incident causes a devastating fire, which puts the entire hospital at risk.
And not only that one.
This gripping moral thriller uses the perspective of the conflict between medical ethics and faith to explore many pressing questions.
How do we defend the "truth" when we don't agree on what it is and many have reason to undermine it?
How do we deal with the fact that the dismissals and discrediting of our best are precisely the manipulators of the awakened crowds?
And finally - how does who we are affect our most important decisions?
The play is a loose adaptation of Professor Bernhardi from 1912 by Arthur Schnitzler. However, Robert Icke enriches it with a diversity of identities and opinions, which in the online age become the catalyst for the story of a sharp fall.
