About event
The successful tours Spiegel im Spiegel and Petite Messe Solennelle of Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Nederlands Kamerkoor will be continued with a moving, but also comforting program: Requiem.
MANGELD by the communist system, hunted by Stalin and Heavy Depressief, wrote Shostakovich for themselves. It became his most intimate and moving work. Bach wrote the "Requiem" the Chaconne after his first wife Maria Barbara died and buried during his absence. Soloist Candida Thompson is accompanied by four singers, making the hidden coral melodies to life and the lamentation becomes even more intense. Fauré wrote a completely different requiem than usual: modest, comforting and serene. Not the ominous stranger of death he expressed in it, but a happy surrender, the Requiem as an ode to eternal life!
