How to live in technofeudalism, where most of our lives are influenced by a bunch of pedophile billionaires? Whatever the answer, one thing is certain: we are all tired of the feeling of constant powerlessness.
Richy: business as usual is a production that explores the limits of power, powerlessness and individual responsibility through butoh and clownery. Despite physical and mental fatigue, the character of Richy looks for a way to stop the stone that is rolling towards us together with the audience and opens the way to participation in joy as an act of resistance.
Prepared by: Arman Kupelyan, Emil Rothermel, Ondra Menoušek, Lukáš Klíma, Štěpán Plíva
Production: Spatné divadlo, Natálie Matýsková
Thanks: Art re use, Takeoff
Spatné divadlo is a collective of male and female creators who are dedicated to physical and object theater. We create original productions that combine elements of the new circus, dance and performance art. Our goal is to search for new, more intimate relationships between the performance and the audience through the disruption of common theater conventions. For this, we use site-specific creation and close and honest interaction with viewers. With the advancing politicization and polarization of society, we try to navigate the upcoming changes and express ourselves through our work.
The project was supported by Spatné Divadlo, Alfred ve dvor, SFK, Prague 7, MHMP, MK, REZI.DANCE
