🔥 In her work, Rita Koszorús (*1989 Bratislava) focuses on the pragmatic and metaphorical "search for home" in socio-political and personal contexts. It explores the tension between globalist idealism and the human needs of reality. The experience of losing a sense of belonging due to professional, personal, environmental or social pressures creates a collective desire for security. The author explores the formulation of these ideas through painting, installation, collage and soft sculpture, focusing on the perception of time as a bodily experience with material. Her abstract visual language evokes a utopian vision, where fragmented forms evoke familiar memories, soothe the mind and provide a bittersweet illusion of security.
.
🎶 During the Rita Koszorús exhibition, you can hear a musical set created from songs from the TOON album by producer Monika Šubrtová.
.
Monika Šubrtová is a Slovak producer living in London, known for her experimental approach to music creation. Her debut album 'TOON', released under Next Festival Records, is a collection of six tracks that draw inspiration from 90s electronica and techno, as well as film scores. Šubrtová uses instruments such as Elektron Rytm MK2 and Novation Peak, creating complex and layered soundscapes, rhythms and textures. The album's dark atmospheric tracks reflect her creative ability to combine beauty with cold nostalgia.
