Vinařství Stejskal is a family winery focused on the production of boutique wines produced both from its own production and from the production of quality vineyards around Znojemsko. The winery is located in Vrbovac in the Znojmo region. The wines are produced by the classic method without the use of supporting substances that would in any way affect the varietal character of the wines. The effort of the winery is focused on creating a completely original type of wine. During production, there are precise and gentle agronomic interventions from the very beginning of the grapes in the vineyard. During the production of wine, attention is paid to gentle processing of the grapes and trouble-free, clean and uniform fermentation at low temperatures with minimal access to air. These requirements promote purity of taste and create a high varietal aroma.
The Kolby winery is located in the village of Pouzdřany. The loamy loess of high calorific value and the unique microclimate create a typical steppe terroir, which is distinctly and uniquely reflected in the flavors and aromas of all wines. From young, light wines with fresh acidity to mature full-bodied and mineral wines. According to written records, the history of vine cultivation on the Kolby hill dates back to the reign of King Přemysl Otakar II. and some finds prove that vines could grow on Kolby even as early as the 2nd century.
The winery's flagship varieties are Rhine Riesling and Wallachian Riesling, from the Burgundian varieties they are
Pinot blanc and Chardonnay.
