ROCKQUIEM
Mozart's Requiem: rock and symphonic
Slovak premiere: Rockquiem
Rockquiem is a rock-symphonic adaptation of Mozart's Requiem (K. 626) - a work from 1791. The project was initiated by Daniel Landa and Manfred Schweigkofler (Bolzano) and the musical adaptation was composed in 2002 by Stefan Wurz. The world premiere took place on August 3, 2003 in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House in Prague, and the theatrical version premiered on April 8, 2004 in the Nuovo Teatro Comunale in Bolzano. Later, Rockquiem was also performed at European festivals, for example Szeged Open Air Festival (Hungary) and Bergen Opera Festival (Norway). The Slovak premiere will be performed by the conductor Petra Torkošová with the Technik STU Choir and the Festival Symphony Orchestra.
