Family hiking with KRTKO: From the lowest to the highest point of Medzibodrožia

Description of the trip
Jesenné Medzibodrožie is colored gold and smells mainly of wine. The grapes have already been turned and a miraculous transformation is already taking place in the barrels. Most of the waterfowl have flown to their wintering grounds. But our eyes will still be pleased by a few swans and ducks that have adapted to our increasingly mild winters.
From the lowest point in Medzibodrožia, but also in the whole of Slovakia (94.5 m above sea level), we will climb around the old riverbed of Bodrog to the highest point in Medzibodrožia – Tarbuck (277.5 m) with a famous circular view. We will symbolically end the hike in tuff cellars with a tasting of delicious golden wine from local winemakers.
Meeting of participants: Košice railway station at 6:50 a.m., or railway station in Streda nad Bodrogom at 8:20 a.m., after the arrival of the train from Košice.
Access to the meeting place: train from Košice (direction Čierna nad Tisou) with a departure at 7:06 a.m.
Length of the route: 18 km
Elevation: 210 m
Time requirement: total time of walking without sightseeing and rest breaks is 6 hours
Estimated return: by train from Streda nad Bodrogom at 5:16 p.m., arrival in Košice at 18:40 hrs.
Košice Region Tourism and the Košice Family Tourism Club have prepared a varied series of family tourism in the vicinity of Košice with a varied program combining visits to events, museums and fitness activities in autumn, winter and spring nature. Guiding services and activity management will be provided by the Košice Family Tourism Club - TOM KRTKO. Travel by public transport, entrance fees to monuments and snacks are paid individually on the spot.

- a walk along the Bodrog dam and around the dead arm - the former Bodrog bed
- ascent to the "sand" mountain - Tarbucka
- wine tasting directly from the locals winemakers in traditional cellars

- sandbanks at Tarbucka
- circular view of the entire Medzibodrožie and beyond
