Rogério Bicudo: Presentation of the album “SOLO”

Rogério Bicudo presents his latest album "SOLO", an album that reflects his musical journey with pieces that explore different sounds and emotions, all interpreted on the guitar. Is a selection of songs with enormous melodic power and harmonic richness, in a fascinating combination of original compositions and reinterpretations of masterpieces from Brazilian popular music.
The guitarist and composer Rogério Bicudo is an excellent musician who masterfully captures the essence of Brazilian guitar, both in his interpretations and his compositions. He blends the precision and technique of chamber music with the rhythm and passionate strength of popular music. His sound is very distinctive, with a preference for direct expressiveness and beautiful melodic lines mixed with the polyrhythms so characteristic of Brazilian music.
Rogério Bicudo began playing guitar at a very young age, specifically at the age of six. Later, he took lessons with Odair Assad and in 1982 went to Spain to study at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. He now resides in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he performs as a soloist, with the fabulous Duo Atlântico, and in various other projects with diverse formations. His playing transcends musical genres or styles.
