Zach Mathieu
Post Punk/Schrobenhausen
Zach Mathieu's raw, emotional performance and intensity are reminiscent of the sound and feel of Thrice, Hot Water Music and a bit of the early years of Jimmy Eat World. Within their “Wall of Sound”, Zach Mathieu has its roots in 1990s American post-hardcore/emocore and alternative rock, being one of the last surviving bands in the genre. Although “Highs & Lows” is the first release from this young band, these four gentlemen are no longer new to the recording and performing scene. With her previous bands Carrie Anne and Palmcourtbeats, Zach Mathieu has gained a lot of touring experience, including a US West Coast tour and appearances on MTV. Most recently they played three German and Swiss tours with the New York post-punk combo The Noise as well as countless local and regional shows. Zach Mathieu spent more time touring the country than in his home rehearsal room and took his time to create an impressive debut album. “Highs & Lows” was recorded live in the Schrobenhausen Pavilion under the direction of Achim Lindermeir (Emil Bulls, Claire, Van Holzen) and mixed and mastered in Halifax, Canada by Darren van Niekerk (The Stanfields / Iron Tulip Audio) and Noah Mintz (Lacquer Channel Mastering). The whole thing was crowned with guest appearances by Maximilian Wörle (Adulescens) and Jon Landry with The Stanfields. Highs & Lows is perfect for kickstarting your morning coffee or keeping your body moving until the early hours!
