Attention event!
Ronnie Foster, legendary organist, disciple of Jimmy Smith, sidekick of George Benson and accomplice of Stevie Wonder, signs his return to the legendary Blue Note label, after having released five cult albums in the 70s. The rare opportunity to see him again in Europe and on the New Morning stage for a unique date with his trio for a electrifying demonstration of groove and jazz!
You all listened to Ronnie Foster without even knowing it was him...
In the same way as the three Smiths (Johnny Hammond, Jimmy and Dr Lonnie), Ronnie Foster is one of the missing links of the Hammond organ, the one whose cult albums on Blue Note best represent the transition between the soul jazz trends of the 60s and the fusion of the 1960s. 70.
He is also decisive in the popular and mainstream evolution of jazz, soul, funk and disco productions at the turn of the 70s/80s, being one of the most successful studio musicians sought after and influential with major artists such as George Benson (on Breezin, the best-selling jazz album in history), Stevie Wonder (on Songs in the Key Of Life, the most accomplished soul album in history), Lionel Richie, Roberta Flack, David Sanborn, Grover Washington, Stanley Clarke. His music finally spread quite naturally to Hip Hop, sampled numerous times by the most inventive artists of the genre like A Tribe Called Quest on their legendary Electric Relaxation.
In 2022, Ronnie returns to Blue Note, more dashing than ever.
Having been one of the label's youngest artists and now one of its veterans, he is one of the rare musicians still alive who brings together and excites all generations of jazz.
