About event

Instrumental singing in the Renaissance

Renaissance consort music by Royal Wind Music Academy: talented recorder students from the Conservatory of Amsterdam play on a beautiful collection of Renaissance recorders.

The Royal Wind Music Academy presents ingenious 16th century music from various European countries, from the streets of Seville to the court in England. Music by Antoine Brumel, Thomas Tallis, Johann Walter & Diego Ortiz, among others.
Ogni sorte di strumenti plays their latest program 'Instrumental singing in the Renaissance', consisting of Venetian music for instruments and specifically adapted for instruments, with works by including Frescobaldi, R. Rognoni, Guami, Grillo.

Ogni sorte di strumenti, founded in 2022, is a young ensemble specialized in early music. With both a historical approach and a curiosity for rarely played repertoire, they want to experiment with and create new timbres, for polyphonic music and instrumental music of the 16th and 17th centuries, thanks to all the possibilities offered by wind instruments, such as sackbuts, dulcians and in particular recorders!

Ensemble Ogni sorte di instrumentsi:
Mathilde Aigouy, recorder Yung-Hsu Shih, sackbut Rhys Oldham, sackbut Daphné Franquin, dulcian
Isabel Negrin Lopez, organ

Sit Fast is a concert series by Ensemble Black Pencil, in collaboration with Stadsherstel.
