We cordially invite you to the institutional seminar entitled "Development of reading literacy: The role of (meta)comprehension and narrative skills in preschool age", at which colleagues from our institution Oľga Zápotočná, Kamila Urban and Zuzana Jančík Petrová, will present the results of their developmental intervention study aimed at improving the reading literacy of children in kindergartens.
We ask you to convey this information to your colleagues. The seminar will take place on 11/11/2024 at 14:00 in a hybrid form (ÚVSK + online). If you are interested in online participation, please fill out a simple form: https://forms.gle/Ku5HegxXTdTcoJr69

Abstract: At the seminar, we will present the results of an interventional developmental study, which show that the kindergarten has a real potential to contribute to the improvement of children's reading literacy, especially at the level of comprehension read text, or those indicators of development that are largely shaped by the social and cultural environment of children. The first presentation will focus on the impact of the systematic and purposeful action of the kindergarten on the development of literacy, the second will emphasize the role of metacognition, which is conveyed to the child in social interactions accompanying reading. The final presentation will link the development of text comprehension with children's narrative production.
