About event

Markéta Hajské's monographs The Stojka Family. Spatial mobility and territorial anchordness of Lovara Vlax Roms. The book was published by Karolinum, on the spot for sale. The introduction will take place in the area of the studio (on the spot will be marked). It is based on a large set of historical sources and ethnographic data. The stand family belonged to a group of lovaries. Before the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the economy of the Lovárs was founded on regular trade trips through today's Czech and Slovakia, but also Austria, Poland and Hungary. Despite the widespread concept of "nomadic Gypsies" as unhealthy nomads, Stojk was resident and socially anchored in the local rural community in the Trenčín region through a network of diverse social relations, including ownership. At the same time, the family faced the continuum of police practices persisting across historical periods and political regimes that focused on "nomadic gypsies". She studied general anthropology at FHS UK, has a doctorate from ethnology at the Faculty of Arts. He has been researching Roma History, Culture and Language since 2000. Since 2014, she has been working as a scientific worker at a Roma seminar (now part of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University), where she was gradually part of several collective research into various disciplinary focus, gradually specializing in language research and history.
