About event

Series of informal lectures in space D.1 Atelier Campus Hybernská.

Media reality reflects and reshapes social reality. What terms are Roma representation in the media space and what terms does the Tuke.TV media platform use in its practice? Lecture and discussion with journalist and bohemian Alica Sigmund Heráková about the origin and use of the terms Roma and non-Roma, anti-Roma racism and anti-Cycanism or the norm of notation of words such as ci⭑án.
The lecture will also include a dialogue with the historian Nikola Ludlová.

Nikola Ludlová is a historian and Romanist by education, she works across various disciplines and professional contexts. In his historical research, he focuses on the interplay between science and politics, with particular emphasis on the institutional structures and practices of knowledge production. She currently works at the Jindřich Chalupecký Company, where she works as a curator and expert on the concept and implementation of solutions in the field of social justice and environmental responsibility in art operations. Specifically, it is, for example, increasing the representation of female artists and various professionals in art from various historically and currently marginalized groups, improving the accessibility of art institutions and art for audiences from these groups, and their active participation in various roles (e.g. as art mediators, consultants, or guests). He collaborates with the National Film Archive on a project investigating the representation of Roma in non-fiction film. She is occasionally involved in advocacy initiatives for the rights of Roma women and Roma with a minority gender identity and sexual orientation.
