Witch Club Satan is an occult, feminist black metal band consisting of Nikoline Spjelkavik on guitar , Victoria Røising on bass and Johanna Holt Kleive on drums.
Witch Club Satan started as a theater project with a premiere at the Festivals in Northern Norway. Half a year before the premiere, the three members decided to learn to play instruments and delve into a genre they had previously only seen from the outside. Only black metal as a genre had the explosive power and energy that the trio needed to create the monster they wanted.
During the premiere at Festspillene in Northern Norway, according to the band, it went "completely to hell", but both the press and the audience thought it was a historic moment and a concert that people in 15 years will claim they attended. Suddenly, Witch Club Satan was a band people had heard of and wanted more of.
NME, one of the world's most iconic music magazines, featured Witch Club Satan as a highlight in their coverage of the Island Festival:
“( ...) Our highlight is the terrifying Witch Club Satan – a female black metal group with a NSFW approach to nudity, blood, noise and profanity.”

Black Metal, Reborn
Witch Club Satan makes black metal the way it was done in the 80s, before there was a clear aesthetic or template for how it should be done.
With Jørn Stubberud/Necrobutcher from Mayhem as mentor and the mythical witch as guide , the budding musicians put on one hell of a show to wake themselves and others up. Driven by a brutal hope, the witches with their primal cry demand change.
Stubberud called the debut concert "untainted and fresh" and claims that Witch Club Satan is "the new thing that black metal needs now."
