About event
Let's rejoice heartily at the manger together!
Hey, master, get up smart! You keep an eye out for beauty at this time of night:
Do you build a Nativity scene at home for Christmas? And there are also figures of shepherds in it, who carry gifts to the newborn baby Jesus? That is how the teacher Jakub Jan Ryba wrote a beautiful mass about them long ago. About how the shepherds heard the singing of the angels, saw the light in the sky and went to Bethlehem. And because they were poor, they gifted Jesus with the best thing they had - music. Let's go on that joyful pilgrimage with them this year and bow to the one who gave light to the world.
That you can't play anything? Don't you dare to sing? Or you don't know the words? It doesn't matter, Master Jakub composed his Czech Christmas Mass in such a way that even ordinary people could play it anywhere and for anything. So come rejoice and dance with us, because there is no Christmas without Rybovka!
screenplay and direction: Hana Mikolášková
musical arrangement and staging: Ondřej Kolín
dramaturgy: Sára Matůšová
stage and costumes: Kateřina Doleželová
TRIGGER WARNING
The production has Christian content and will hit you with good news about the birth of Jesus!
