Come to Devín Castle on the first Saturday in August - August 1, 2026 - and experience history with us!
A rich program is prepared:
♣️ 10.00 – Opening of the gates of Devín Castle
♣️ 11.00 – Opening ceremony
♣️ 12.00 – Presentation of the Habsburg Secrets
♣️ 13.00 – Oriental dances
Dances with the atmosphere of the mythical Orient with veils or sabres.
♣️ 14.00 – Performance Heroes of the Anti-Turkish Struggle
Stories of real personalities who defended the territory of Hungary during the 150-year period of invasions by Ottoman troops into Hungary.
♣️ 15.00 – Magician's window
♣️ 16.00 – Hungarian Knights tournament
A unique show inspired by what happened when the so-called of the "Peace of Žitav", concluded by Palatine Thurzo as a representative of Hungary with the Ottoman Empire in 1606.
The confrontation of different cultures is complemented by difficult horsemanship and sword fights of brave warriors
♣️ 17.30 - Recital of period music
Historical and historicizing music for listening and dancing performed by musicians from TOSTABUR. Several of the songs are the author's work of our members.
♣️ 18.30 – Final ceremony full of sword fights, dancing and waving flags
♣️ 19.00 – End of the event and closing of the castle
All kinds of fun and pastimes will be available throughout the day:
🏹 shooting range with bows, crossbows and knife throwing
🐴 live riding and a wooden horse
🏐 a children's corner with various games (catapult, stilts, throwing rings at a unicorn, throwing rings at swords, throwing balls at a dragon)
🥨 craft and sales stalls, a snack stand
🏰 After buying a ticket, in addition to the performances, you can also see the entire castle area with all its beautiful corners and interesting exhibits.
💰 Admission:
- basic: €12
- discounted: €6
- large family (2 adults and 1-3 children): €27
- small family (1 adult and 1-2 children): €15
Tickets can be purchased at the box office directly at Devín Castle or online in advance. We will publish the link for ticket sales shortly.
The organizer has the right to request for inspection a document that entitles the buyer to purchase a discounted ticket (e.g. student ISIC card, senior citizens ID card).
Please note that the entrance to Devín Castle is prohibited with dogs, with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired.
