We invite you to a unique workshop with Vinicius Fellipe de Souza (BR), where he will teach the basic rhythms of umbanda. Vinicius is an ogã - an initiated umbanda ritual drummer whose conga playing is an unforgettable experience✨
You are welcome to join us on this joyful journey into the Afro-Brazilian magic of drums that connect us to our body and natural forces💦🔥🌬️🌳🌕🌞
You can bring your own drum, the number of drums to borrow will be limited.
💜The lesson is suitable for those of you who like drumming or want to try it, no experience is necessary.

Umbanda is a syncretic Brazilian spiritual lineage that it mixes African traditions, Catholicism, spiritualism and shamanism. The central point of umbanda is the singing of pontos, accompanied by a rhythmic symphony of drums, connecting with the African homeland and orixás – divine energies and forces of nature that organize chaos and restore harmony through mediumistic incorporation, dance and movement. Vinicius is a musician and a dedicated drummer with deep roots in the Afro-Brazilian umbanda tradition. He specializes in percussion and rhythmic instruments, through which he creates a space for spiritual work, ceremonies and collective experience.
For more than 9 years, he has been a member of the Fraternidade Kayman and Casa de Cura Nossa Senhora da Conceição centers in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte, where he works as an ogã - a dedicated atabaques player. His playing is sensitive, strong and precise; promotes connection with the lines of orixás and spirit guides and opens space for deep mediumistic incorporation.
He also passes on his experience as a teacher of drumming and sacred umbanda rhythms such as samba nagô, samba cabula, ijexá, maculelê, barravento and others. He teaches with great sensitivity and receptivity - individually and in group workshops, face-to-face and online.
In addition to ceremonial work, he also devotes himself to musical projects and the recording of spiritual music, shamanic songs and chants from the umbanda line in collaboration with other musicians.
He has a strong connection to rap medicine, which he works with with respect and awareness of tradition. At the same time, he is dedicated to the production of instruments, especially precisely crafted wind instruments intended for this practice.

He has a strong connection to the medicine of rapé, with which he works respectfully and with awareness of tradition. He also crafts instruments, particularly finely made applicators/pipes used in this practice.
