Meeting on the Republic Square at the Powder Gate
A guide walk
Have you ever walked through the royal way from start to finish? It is a bit of a cult route, something like ascent to Sněžka or Říp. It starts with a dust gate, ends at the castle and went to the coronation of Czech kings. We will go through Celetná Street, across the Old Town Square, Malá Square, Charles Street to Charles Bridge, across Malostranské Square up the hill Nerudova Street to Matyáš's Gate. The original coronation route led from Nerudova Street Úvoz to Pohořelec, where it turned and Loretánská Street became famous on Hradčanské Square. We will shorten the last section, since since 1684 we have a shortcut under the castle in the rock. Even so, we will have over 3 km in our feet.
On the way we will see the best we can offer us. Buildings of various styles, palaces, churches, monasteries, town hall, astronomical clock, sculptures, memorials… We will go around countless places where history literally formed, show and say a lot of interesting things. And who was the last?
