In cooperation with the Aigyptos Foundation, we continue with the popular series of Egyptological Lectures. On Friday 31. 1. BR/> SAKKÁRA is a traditional stop of most sightseeing tours to Egypt, but they usually focus only on Joser's complex and the burial ground of Pharaoh Teti. However, Sakkár is a rich location that has been an important burial ground and a cult place throughout Egyptian history. Expeditions that have been working here for centuries are still uncovering new ancient monuments from all periods of Egyptian history and showing how this site has changed and how ancient Egyptians perceived and used it.
Let's go together for more than three millennia of Egyptian history and see how the individual periods have been enrolled in the nature of this exceptional location.

Mgr. et Mgr. Lucie Vendelová-Jirásková, Ph.D., studied history and English language at the Faculty of Education, and Egyptology and History and Culture of Islamic Countries at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Karlová. In 2021 she defended the dissertation work in the field of Egyptology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. She is engaged in the study of the ancient Egyptian society and its transformations in the Ranodynastic period and the Old Empire. In the framework of material culture, he specializes in research into stone containers. She is the administrator of the archive of the Czech Egyptology Institute.
