About event
Come celebrate November 17 with us at the Velvet Bridge to Europe event. It is an event that emphasizes the European dimension of Czech democracy.
The Velvet Bridge focuses not only on commemorating the past and celebrating freedom, but also on the future. It emphasizes the direction in which the Czech democratic society should go.
It deepens the spirit of freedom with what Czech society lacks - a clearly defined vision of the Czech Republic as a country that is a solid part of the EU and NATO and he is interested in the state of the world even beyond his borders.
The Czech Republic lacks a long-term vision that would move our country forward. At the same time, it faces important challenges such as the transformation of the economy, the development of innovations, digitization and education reform.
Freedom also means responsibility. That is why we organize the Velvet Bridge, where everyone has the opportunity to think about where the Czech Republic is headed and what it will be like in 5, 15 or 50 years.
During the Velvet Bridge, various optimistic faces of the Czech Republic are presented - civil society organizations, which focus on European topics such as the initiative for the introduction of the euro in the Czech Republic, the NAFO movement, which fights against disinformation and supports Ukraine, or the pan-European political party Volt, which emphasizes pan-European cooperation.
