About event
We cordially invite you to a unique concert dedicated to the composer Samuel Capricornus (1628-1665). He worked in Bratislava and composed his first important collection Opus musicum here. We bring you his small spiritual concerts from the three-part collection Geistlicher Harmonien.
🎼 Samuel CAPRICORNUS was one of the most important composers of the 17th century, and his work is preserved in many libraries throughout Europe. During his unfortunately short life, Capricornus composed quite a lot of music. It has been preserved in many manuscripts and prints. Despite the fact that during his lifetime Capricornus was a respected composer and traveled much of Europe, today his work is relatively little performed.
Most of the music is composed to a German text, but among the compositions we also find works composed to Latin texts. The interesting part of the concert will be the pieces composed to the texts of Jubilus Bernhardi, which Capricornus also used in the 24-part work and which he composed in Pressburg/Bratislava and later added instruments in Stuttgart. This time, however, the composer used their German versions from 1612.
🎶 The soloists of the evening will be the sopranos Adriana BANÁSOVÁ and Hilda GULYÁS and the baritone Dávid HARANT.
They will be accompanied by the ensemble LE NUOVE MUSICHE in the cast: Ján KRUŽLIAK and Ferdinand SLEZÁK baroque violins, Mauro COLANTONIO, viola da gamba, Martin GEDEON organ (positive) and Jakub MITRÍK theorba (chitarrone), artistic direction.
🛒 TICKETS are available in the Tickeportal network and 30 minutes before the start of the concert in the Albrecht House.
We are looking forward to seeing you! :)
