About event
Dear Sangha,
don't miss the opportunity to participate in the Vedic abhishekam ritual, which will be led by the monk Damódarananda, and which will be part of the big Sangha meeting already on the third Saturday of November 15.11.2025 at 14:30.
Rituals have their own special charm. They can tune us into a greater connection with our inner self and feel the sacred. We bring you the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful Vedic rituals - abhishekam with a brahmachari, a young monk Damodarananda, who lives in a Hindu ashram and is currently visiting his birthplace.
What is abhishekam?
Abhishekam is a sacred purification ritual that has a deep spiritual meaning. It helps everyone involved to deepen their relationship with God and bring a person closer to unity with Him. During the ceremony, we buy the deity in the five elements, which are offered in the form of milk, yogurt, ghee, honey and sugar. This powerful ceremony is beneficial not only for the pujari (the person performing the ceremony), but also for the people present and the very environment where the ceremony is performed.
Spiritual power of mantras
The whole ceremony will be accompanied by chamber chanting of mantras live. Mantras carry a high vibration and thereby cleanse our subtle bodies of accumulated emotions and negativity from the mind or the environment, which will be multiplied by the ongoing ritual.
