If family! We visit this special and magical place again, after the works of improvement and adaptation and a period of drought that we did not see the show of the waterfalls, we return to a Sant Miquel del Fai in all its splendor and we can visit it and enjoy a very nice guided tour in a space where nature and culture go hand in hand. Audiovisual and a signposted itinerary that allows us to enter this privileged environment, which is part of the natural space of the Bertí cliffs.

How is this natural place possible?

The monastery of Sant Miquel del Fai is the perfect example of inclusion in nature, because its natural environment is perfect. It is framed between the rocks of the Cingles de Bertí, a mountainous system that separates the towns of Vallès Oriental and Moianès. The water flows sliced ​​between the stones, with waterfalls, waterfalls and streams that unfold naturally.

Sant Miquel del Fai, has the only Romanesque hermitage built in a grotto in Catalonia. The set, which challenges the gravity perched on the rocks, is located in the Tenes valley, between rocks and waterfalls more than 100 meters high.

of the environment stands out the singular square of the Abbey, fitted into the mountain and from where you can see small lakes formed by the waters of the rains and the thaw. In front of the square we find the house of the prior, a Gothic -style building from the 15th century.

The stone corridor, which had previously been part of the cloister, leads to the 10th -century Romanesque hermitage dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. The site had been previously used for pagan worship. Stalagmites and stalactites have been formed in the limestone rocks. Just at 800 meters the previous hermitage, we find another one of the same time and style dedicated to Sant Martí.

The monument has the protection of Cultural Asset of National Interest (BCIN) by the Generalitat de Catalunya since 1949
