About event
We invite you to a fascinating conversation with Dušan Mikušovič, the author of the historical true crime book about Valerián Čunderlík, a poet whose charm few could resist, and at the same time a selfish manipulator who conquered others with his attractiveness.
How could it happen that his charming masks hid a cruel lover? And how did the investigators manage to uncover his insidious crimes? Dušan Mikušovič guides you through the mind of a man who was able to torture, humiliate and manipulate women, while his story takes place against the background of the period of the Slovak state and socialist Czechoslovakia. The author built the book from archival materials, witness statements, investigative files and personal correspondence, thanks to which the reader receives a complete picture of the man who also inspired the creators of the Dunaj series, at your service.
Come and learn more about the behind-the-scenes of the case, the author's sense of detail and how the history of true crime can bring lessons to the present. Hosted by Lucia Osvladová, the guests of the discussion will be Dušan Mikušovič, Denníka N reporter and author of the book Sadista Valerián Čunderlík, Jozef Hašto, psychiatrist and therapist, and Norbert Moravanský, medical examiner.
