Sasha Waltz & Guests: Kreatur

In Sasha Waltz’s choreography “Kreatur,” dance arises from tensions between creatures that share the same living space. The turmoil, ecstasy and search for protection experienced together allow the dancers to merge into a single creature, only to then dissolve again into individual fates and enter into new conflicts and connections. States of power and powerlessness, dominance and weakness, community and isolation, illness and pleasure are explained as facets of the same dazzling nature. The struggle of these beings with the chaos of their own impulses becomes a symbol of the private and social challenges of our present day.
