About event
💵 Public finances affect each of us - from the quality of health and education to the amount of taxes or pensions. Nevertheless, they often seem to be complicated and distant to everyday life. How does the state actually manage our money? Where do the revenues are taken to the state coffers and where the billions are lost? 💸 We look at the main sources of income such as taxes, levies or Eurofunds, and the largest expenditure items that often absorb a large part of the budget. In an understandable way, we will take a closer look at how deficits arise and what is the difference between public debt and budgetary deficit. Are the debts always bad, or can also be useful? Where could the state save and where to look for new sources of income? Is it possible to reduce the deficit without significant impacts on citizens' lives? We will show examples of successful and unsuccessful consolidation from abroad and compare them to the situation in Slovakia.🤔
🧐No concludes the future of public finances. What challenges await us in the coming years and what reforms are being discussed today? Can the public influence the state's management? The lecture will offer not only facts, but also space for discussion. Together, we will try to reveal where they are lost in the state budget and where you could look for billions.💸
