🌏 Why did almost whole ecosystems extinct on Earth in the distant past, and quite suddenly?
🔨Príčiny mass extinctions that scientists reveal in a fossil record from pareraemmates to third -mate, are often related to sudden changes in the carbon cycle. These were triggered by chains of events - from warming and oxygen decline to ocean acidification. But the fossil record itself is incomplete and distorted. 📃
How do paleontologists and geologists fill these "white places" in the evidence? 🤔 And what can science tell us about the culprits of the greatest extinctions in the history of our planet?
