About event
How do we perceive public space? How do we think about it and how do we relate to it? How does our everyday lives affect and what stories does it hide? Architect and artist Savka Marenić invites you to perform her site-specific project Failstorm, which shows how fictional stories and artistic interventions can revive and transform public space. 🌆✨
The event will take place in the courtyard of the Kounice Palace in Nekáznka and will offer not only a lecture and a joint discussion, but also a short performance and a garden feast. Come and share stories and get to know approaches that can influence how we perceive public space. 🍃🥂
The lecture will show the process of developing the project Failstorm and offer an insight into the method of art research that Savka Marenic uses in a performative formation of space. Weaving narrative is not only a metaphor, but a tool of transformation, which through a performative and participating narrative transforms space into a place of shared stories, collective imagination and community engagement. Fairy cloak is a fictitious figure - a suit without a body, with a hood and wings - which is transformed by a strange, injured and neglected places of urban space in its voice. 🕊️✨
Savka Marenić is an architect, artist and doctoral student at the Department of Free Arts in Prague. In his research, he examines how performance and fiction contribute to the transformation and recovery of public space. In his practice, sit-specific spatial interventions connect with informal education, performative art, community involvement and collective memory. She founded the Fairies project, aimed at creating interactive textile objects inspired by fictions. 🦋🎭
