About event
SAVOY SATELLITES orbit Count Basie feat. Emil Wahlgren
The work of the Basie Band is often divided into the early and late phases, “the old and the new testament”. The “old testament” is an essential part of the SAVOY SATELLITES repertoire and therefore also of this concert.
The Basie Band's big band classics were arranged for the octet and the concentration on the essentials makes the Basie Band's style particularly clear. The octet delights the ears and feet of those present in the usual way, because as Count Basie once said:
“Meanwhile, keep on listening and tapping your feet.”
Advent Advent: Attention, this concert is free of Christmas songs.
