Residence and workshop with Mateusz Nowak (PL)
What does the loneliness of the performance on stage mean? How does the process of creating the stage world begin? Does the loneliness of the actor or actress mean full responsibility for what viewers see? Every second has its value. Who is standing in front of us? Where do we lead the audience? Text, visuality, acting, sound, light - how to organize it all? Or - maybe - love and do what you want? I don't know. I don't know - that's always the beginning! We'll see! During the workshop we will create several -minute theater etudes in the style of monodrama. We will work with ideas and materials that will be brought by participants themselves, as well as improvisation and available space sources. Nowak (PL)
Under the leadership of Mateusz Nowak (1986), President of the Polish Center of the International Theater Institute, a Polish philologist, voice lecturer, cultural animator and actor Monodram. For his four solo performances of Theatricality, front and back, sacrifice and Mr. Tadeáš, who played more than three hundred times in Poland and abroad (Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lithuania, Northern Moldon, Moldova, Mongolova, Mongolova Slovakia, South Africa, Ukraine, USA and Turkey) won approximately thirty awards. For his artistic activity he was awarded the bronze cross for the merit of the President of the Republic of Poland. In the open and creative space Družba Drama Studio in Trenčín will create four short stage shapes that reflect the personal experience of the participants and their joint work. The aim of the residences is to connect professional artists with the local community, to support creativity and enable viewers to look into the process of the creation of the theater work. The results of each residence will be publicly presented and supplemented by discussions with the creators. The project offers a new way to perceive the theater - as a space for cooperation, dialogue and sharing. At the same time, it creates a model that can inspire other artistic initiatives in Trenčín and outside.
