For many men, she was a femme fatale. She loved them, but her heart belonged above all to music. Can a person choose their fate or can they just succumb to it? And how do the histories of which we are a part affect us? The life and love story of the Czech composer and conductor Vítězslava Kaprálova, whose pilgrimage ended too soon.
The musical-dramatic collage will feature selections from the work of Vitka Kaprálova and her mentor and admirer Bohuslav Martinů (including excerpts from the opera Julietta) as well as quotes from authentic correspondence.
The production is being prepared by the Opera Studio of the Brno Conservatory in cooperation with the National Theater Brno for the International Opera and Music Festival Janáček Brno 2024.
