About event
Operas without choral scenes are hardly conceivable. From the beginning of the genre's history around 1600, choirs were involved in the stage action with varying functions and intensity, either as commentators or as actual actors. In some stage works the choir even seems to be the main actor. Schrammek & Käther search through operas from several centuries for the best choral scenes.
